Shree Baldev Post graduate college, a premier institution of learning, is situated at Baragaon in Varanasi district. The college is located very close to Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi. It is well-linked by road, and hence one can have easy access to the college campus for pursuing various P.G. and U.G. courses being run by the institution for the promotion of knowledge and professional abilities urgently required in the competitive world of today.
Affiliated to Mahatama Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi, Shree Baldev Post graduate college is constitutionally registered under 2f & 12(B) category of the U.G.C. , New Delhi. Looking back through the gallery of time, the college was founded by Dr. Sheo Mohan Lal Agrawal, a renowned medical practitioner of his times, in the year 1965. The Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur granted affiliation to the college for running the Faculty of Arts for undergraduate classes in Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Geography, Political Science and Mathematics.Six years later in the year 1971 the Faculty of Science came into existence. The college was granted permission for running undergraduate classes in the subjects of Maths, Chemistry and Physics by the Gorakhpur University. Two years later in 1973 the permission was granted for running undergraduate courses in Zoology and Botany too. The year 1992 witnessed a new leaf in the growing body of the college when the college was granted permission for running postgraduate courses in M.A./M.Sc. Maths. In 1996 the Department of Environment and Water Management came into existence under the vocational education scheme of the U.G.C., New Delhi. Postgraduate courses in science are being run since 1998 in the subjects of Chemistry and Botany. Postgraduate classes are also being run by the college in the faculty of arts in four subjects of Hindi, History, Economics and Political Science since the year 2002. At present, the overall student- strength of the college is about 3000. The most promising feature of the development of this college can be seen in its earnest efforts to make the female population of the adjacent areas get quality education. More than 900 girl students are pursuing various courses in different streams.
